Sapo Gordo

A personal piece

This is the STS Sapo Gordo. Its a 2nd gen FTL lightweight freight hauler from the Rark Tech type 4 Olympian line. Back in the day many companies would employ these on their 2 year long trip to Alpha Centauri, where they would stay and preform in system jumps across the colonies.

The advent of Hyperjump drive shortened the trip to Alpha Centauri to a mere 15 minutes and eventually all ships unable to convert were deemed obsolete and undesirable. Some 17734 hulls of the Olympian class were among the ships left abandoned for scrap.
In the latter years of the 34th century, during the decade long instability crisis in the hypeverse, the ship found new life as being one of the most numerous hulls that still incorporate some type of FTL flight, that was unaffected by the instability, that could be pressed immediately into service

STS Sapo Gordo, is making a slow docking approach in the gas giant Hyllanor 2. It is filled with emergency food rations and is part of a huge convoy train of 5000+ ships who travelled non stop for 9 years back and forth to support the separated colonies. It is of note that it has been jerry rigged with 4 30mm auto railguns to scare of small hungry raiders vessels.
