Giant Freighter

Another personal piece, with a little story.

The gas giant Hurcellus IV contains a vital mining operation that is visited by the biggest freighters known to man.
The planet is home to a very docile and curious looking species of floating balloon-like creatures called affectionately Bulbs that usually mind their own business and don’t interfere with the machinations of man.
Every 6 standard human years the creatures start their mating season and become exceptionally aggressive and will attack on sight anything that crosses their phat.
After having exhausted various fruitless searches for a solution it was determined that providing an armed escort was the only realistic way of keeping the gargantuan freighters safe.

A flock of Blubs is seen overwhelming an escort fleet for this particular freighter. It had to be rerouted back to orbit where a thorough bombardment of the approach vector ensued.
